Where can i find a free beanie hat pattern (sewn, not crochet or knit). For halloween? I want to make a hat based off of one on one of my favorite websites, but I can't seem to find a decent pattern. Does anyone know of a website where I can print one off full-size, or where it's very easy to enlarge? (must be free)

Pam D replied: "I don't know that you will get a beanie pattern, but you may want to take these instructions and try to adapt it: good luck"

Crochet pattern for slouch beanie? I am looking to crochet a hat similar to the one seen here: However, I am unable to find a pattern for it anywhere. Can anyone help me? I am not looking for a beret or a tam, just a hat like a beanie that is oversized ad slouches. I have minimal experience with changing patterns, so I am afraid to try to do change a regular beanie pattern and get good results. Thanks for reading!

How to crochet a beanie?!? I have tried to crochet a beanie and although it starts off ok, it gets to a point where I end up with a just a huge crocheted circle, not a hat! What I have looks like a placemat. Can any one possibly suggest how I would get the edges to be bending down like a hat. Any patterns? Also, can anyone suggest a pattern to crochet a slouchy beanie hat? Many thanks

How can I find a crochet pattern for this hat? :&tbnh=126&tbnw=126&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcrochet%2Bhat%26start%3D160%26ndsp%3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN That is a link to the pattern I need. It is a very feminine stitch and i'd love to learn it. Any help from any fellow crocheters? i just love the design and want to know how to make the beanie hat with a visor, and in that pattern..I already know how to do flowers..so I just need that hat pattern, thanks everyone for looking!

Heather R replied: "HMMM I've been looking around And found this Not exactly the same but kinda similar. Good Luck."

timetoknitagain replied: "This is a very cute hat. But if you can't find the exact pattern, just find a nice beanie hat pattern that you like and then use the picture as your guide. Fit the beanie and then count the rows that you would want to crochet the visor. It looks like three rows of single crochet with a decrease of one stitch at the end of each row. Good luck."

nightshadetn replied: "This is a list of baby hats. You may find one simalar. The hat in the picture is done with a post v stitch. You can go to about.com under crochet to find out how to do post stitch if you aren't familar with it."

thamelas replied: "There are a lot of patterns floating around. It may be hard to find a specific pattern. It may be easier to just look at the design and try to copy it. "

Does anyone know of an Australian crocheted or knitted pattern for a bunny beanie/hat? I have been given an American pattern but it askes for worsted yarn and my mother has no idea.

Keith O replied: "G'day silverkoala, Thank you for your question. Here are some Australian knitting sites. Regards"

aussie sheila replied: "check the needle sizes used to give an idea of the yarn (ply) needed I think it is a 12 ply but if that too thick for the needle size then try an 8 ply hope this helps"

where can i find a knitting/crochet pattern for this hat? or what is this type of hat called? the hat i want to knit is here: it's the blue one. i tried to find out what it was called on the internet, but there's 100's of types. i was wondering if anyone knows what it's called (considering most beanie's have specific names) & wear i can find a patter exactly alike or fairly similar.

i am trying to crochet a beanie hat...? and i started doing this pattern like: (I AM DOING THE WHOLE THING SINGLE CROCHET) row 1: 2 in each stitch thing row 2: same as row 1 row 3: 2 stitches in one, then 1, then 2, then 1 (until added up to 30) row 4: 2 stitches in one, then 1, 1, then 2 etc. until 40 row 5: 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2 etc until 50 up until 12 and it was coming out flat and okay, and then i wanted to make it start tubing down into a hat. so i started stitching 1 in each stitch so it would tube down, and i have been doing t his for quite a while, and it just isn't tubing down. and, its all wavy. i dont understand why... can anyone help me? ps. i can post pictures if needed.

Webwise replied: "Starting with row four, do a one stitch per stitch row, and then do the fourth row increase, doing one stitch per stitch row between each increase row. You will see the tubing effect begin if you try this. This should also remove the wavy effect."

lesley c replied: "It sounds like you are adding to many increases to your rounds (rows). From row 4: do one stitch all the way around in the stitches slip stitch with first stitch. next row I'd start increasing stitches it might help."

What pattern do you use to crochet colourful headbands and beanie hats? I need to know what pattern you use to crochet a headband or a beanie. For a headband, is it possible to join TWO DIFFERENT COLOURS of yarn and more to make stripes or weird patterns or do you have to buy ONE ROLL OF YARN THAT IS MULTICOLORED? I have a headband that is striped colours and it looks like it was made with separate rolls of string joined together somehow. PLEASE HELP! I REALLY need some help on how to joins separate yarns and make colourful odd patterned headbands mainly. Anybody who really helps me will get best answer!

yardchicken2 replied: "There are a couple of different ways to go about getting the different colors. 1 - tie on different colours as you go, just as you suggested - you get the best result if you work the ends in as you go. If you tie off the last color, then use a slip knot and a slip stitch to attach the next piece of yarn, it will be smoother than tying the separate pieces togethre with knots. 2. you can use tapestry crochet technique - you carry along the different colors as you go and switch back and forth - this is the technique used in some peruvian crocheted items, such as hats. this link is to a pattern as well as link to more detailed info about tapestry crochet. here's another link with illustrations:"

thejanith replied: "You can use different colors of yarn or you can get a skein of variegated yarn and use that. Your choice. If you choose to make your own mix, just cut the yarn of the first color and tie the next color yarn to it with a good stout square knot. Leave long tails so you can hide them more easily later when you're finishing the piece. If that's not enough help in adding colors go to or and have a look at their tutorials. They are free. Check for patterns while you're there, too, if you like. For more patterns, go to Google and type something like "crochet pattern beanie free" (or headband) into the searchbox when it comes up."

VicRae replied: "Try here and look through the list of patterns. And check out the learn to crochet site on the left hand side of page. Hope this has helped you. "
